Cynthia’s Dramatic Transition With Dr. Lori

· Dr. Lori Greenwald helped to reinstate my self-esteem. ·

How Cynthia Got Her Groove Back.

Dr. Lori helped to reinstate my self-esteem.

Cynthia Washburn had her big reveal today on Better Connecticut. This unemployed human resource manager wanted Dr. Lori’s help to launch a new career and transition into a new phase in her life. Cynthia will soon be pitching her own products on YouTube and wanted Dr. Lori’s help to look and feel her best in front of the camera. After dozens of medical aesthetic and vein procedures, Cynthia’s got her groove back, thanks to Dr. Lori. Greenwald.

Cynthia had it all done, as far as aesthetic medical procedures go.  Dr. Lori Greenwald’s Vanishing Veins and Vivesse Med Spa gave her the five-star treatment and we had a lot of fun doing it.  🙂  However, by no means do you need all these procedures to look and feel your best. Our practitioners start with your biggest concerns first and address your needs with a plan that is comfortable and affordable for you.

Cynthia started off with IPL photorejuvenation therapy, then she had a series of PRP facials with plasma growth factors and microneedling. Cynthia also had  Kybella for the submental fat underneath her chin, Juvashape to tighten the skin on her neck, Botox, Fillers  and sclerotherapy to treat her spider veins in her legs. She also had several hydrafacials, chemical peels and started a new skin care regiment!

HOW KYBELLA® WORKS

The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.
How is KYBELLA® administered?

Treatment can only be administered by a KYBELLA®-trained healthcare specialist. At each treatment, you will receive multiple small injections under your chin, and the injection process takes about 15 to 20 minutes. The exact number of injections will depend on the amount of fat you have under your chin and your desired profile.
How many KYBELLA® treatment sessions will I need?
Since everyone’s chin profile is different, the number of treatments varies from patient to patient. Your healthcare specialist will help determine how many treatment sessions you need based on the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal treatment goals. Each KYBELLA® treatment session is given at least 1 month apart, and you should not receive more than 6 treatments. In clinical studies, 59% of patients received 6 treatments.

After KYBELLA® treatment, you will likely have some swelling, bruising, or numbness under your chin. Be sure to inform your healthcare professional if you develop an uneven smile, facial muscle weakness, or difficulty swallowing.
What are the possible side effects of KYBELLA®?
KYBELLA® can cause serious side effects, including nerve injury in the jaw that can temporarily cause an uneven smile or facial muscle weakness (experienced by 4 out of 100 people in clinical studies) and trouble swallowing (experienced by 2 out of 100 people in clinical studies). In clinical studies, nerve injury in the jaw resolved on its own in a median of 44 days (range of 1 to 298 days), and trouble swallowing resolved on its own in a median of 3 days (range of 1 to 81 days).

The most common side effects occur in the treatment area and include:

Swelling Bruising Pain Numbness Redness Areas of hardness
Side effects are usually temporary and often resolve on their own.

What should I tell my doctor before treatment?

Before receiving KYBELLA®, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you:
Have had or plan to have surgery on your face, neck, or chin
Have had cosmetic treatments on your face, neck, or chin
Have had or have medical conditions in or near the neck area
Have had or have trouble swallowing
Have bleeding problems

Are pregnant or plan to become pregnant (it is not known if KYBELLA® will harm your unborn baby)
Are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed (it is not known if KYBELLA® passes into your breast milk; talk to your healthcare provider about the best way to feed your baby if you receive KYBELLA®)

Cynthia Gets Kybella

This is Bruce Stein, MD, the Executive Director of Vanishing Veins & Vivesse Med Spa.  Cynthia is deep in her treatment phase.  She came today and met with Amanda Scranton, one of our aesthetic nurse practitioners.  While here she underwent IPL and Kybella.  I thought this would be a good chance to tell you about Kybella, the new treatment for double chin.  You may have seen advertisements on TV.  It’s an injectable medication that is injected under the chin.  It literally dissolves the fat (really, it does).  People love the results – on Real Self it has an 84% approval rating, so it works.  And once the fat is destroyed, it’s gone for good.  If you’re bothered by fullness under your chin and wish to avoid surgery, Kybella may be right for you.  Remember, Kybella only works if the fullness is caused by fat and not if it’s caused by sagging skin.  I f you come in to see one of our specialists she can make the determination for you.  Shelly will be posting video soon of Cynthia’s treatments.  And if you want to schedule an appointment at Vivesse Med Spa click here.
